B. Morgan Waters

As a producer, publisher, and supporting musician, B. Morgan Waters has spent much of the last several years doubling as a one-man recording team and herding dog to artists at Chubanai.

Waters’ 2018 solo release, Shadowlinks, is an exercise in the Zen Buddhist practice of “beginner’s mind.” It’s an album he made with little structure (one rule: “no guitar”) and few expectations. But somewhere between developing video games and writing short fiction, the former bassist of BRÜT, Jackie Alan Denise, and other groups manages to do it all.

The latest seedlings of Waters’ inner life spring to life on Shadowlinks, his fantastical, self-described “love letter to the arpeggiator” complete with a nod to Victorian fiction. Chubanai also features his work as a bassist and backup vocalist on Electric Wreckage, Homewreckers, and Chubanai’s compilations.
